[23: 56] evilspoons: my parents got a new washing machine a while back. i hadn't really paid any attention to it. y'know, put clothes in, press button, walk away -hic-

I’m impressed. I always thought it would be just some weird running joke forever, but the character named “The Boy” in Scary Go Round is actually named “Eustace”. In the linked comic, The Boy recalls the time he gets his nickname from a French exchange student, and they discuss his real name as he arrives on an exchange to France.

Stupid computers! Just as I’ve got Windows Vista set up exactly the way I want it on my MacBook Pro, it decides to stop booting (because of something I did, yes, but keep reading). You’re supposed to be able to insert the Vista DVD and do a repair of the boot crap and it’ll start working again. Helpfully, it even suggested to do this. So I said yes… and it failed. With no...

This rules. It’s an API that does nothing on its own, but it allows you to use websites that act as applications - most importantly, you can read Google Reader and Remember The Milk stuff *offline*. This makes RTM the best damn to-do list out there, and solves my laptop-at-school-with-no-internet problem.
